Web Hosting Challenge

Think your host can live up to the challenge? Very doubtful! By taking the following steps, we will prove by using facts, why our service is better than those other guys.

We have compiled a 6 step method that will prove why we are better.

  1. Compare Server Specs
  2. Compare Support
  3. Check Server Speed
  4. Compare Features
  5. Compare Control Panel
  6. Compare Uptime

1. Compare Server Specs

Let us begin by providing our server specs.

  • AMD Dual Opteron 246 2.0GHz 64-Bit Processor
  • 1MB cache
  • Four 74GB 10000 RPM SATA Drives
  • 4GB ECC RAM
  • Hardware RAID 10 for hard drive redundancy
  • Redundant PSUs
  • Offsite backups
  • Housed in Wilshire - "One Wilshire is home to virtually all of the market leaders in the telecommunications industry. The property currently houses over 120 telecom related companies including: AT&T, Cable & Wireless, China Telecom, Global Crossing, Level 3 Communications, MCI Worldcom, MFS, PacBell, Qwest Communications, Sprint, Time Warner (AOL), Verizon (GTE) and XO Communications."

Now ask your host to provide you with their server and datacenter specs. Either have them compare the two, or have us

2. Compare Support

Not only do we provide powerful servers, but our team of support works 24/7 to ensure the server is stable, and your questions are answered.

Most hosts claim they offer 24/7 support, but their idea of 24/7 support is one that believes a 6 hour support response is perfectly fine. Our support technicians are actually working 24/7 to provide support, either waiting for a support request, or answering a support e-mail. Don't believe us? Send up a support request just to find out.

Do not be surprised if you receive a response within just a few minutes after the support e-mail, that's usually how quick we are!

3. Check Check Server Speed

Another big role in determining which host is best, is by finding out how quick their servers are. This is partly due to the datacenter which the server is housed, but it also deals with server loads (amount of people on the server).

Here is what you can do to compare speeds from our hosting, to another host:

  1. Using Windows XP, click 'Start'
  2. Point to 'Run'
  3. Type in 'cmd' and press enter
  4. A black window will appear, from here we will see how long it takes for you to receive a piece of data from a particular server. Type 'ping rp-s.com' and press enter.
  5. You should see a bunch of information being displayed, such as 'Reply from'...
Look for something relating to the average, it should be on a line similar to this:
    'Minimum = 27ms, Maximum = 41ms, Average = 32ms'
  6. This will give us the average time it takes for you to receive a file from our server.
  7. Repeat the process, but instead of using rp-s.com, enter the address of the host you are comparing us to.

4. Compare Features

Ask your host what features come with your hosting package. Our servers are equipped with over 50 features, all of which can be found on the Hosting Software & Tools page.

5. Compare Control Panel

A lot of hosting companies claim they offer "The best Control Panel Software!" but that can't be true. There is only 1 best.

We will let you make your decision which one is best, visit our Control Panel Demo.

Ask yourself, how easy is it to use? Is it easy to find what you are looking for? Which one is more feature rich? Is it stable?

6. Compare Server Uptime

We already prove why our service is better by showing real uptime statistics, but how do they compare to other hosts?

Most hosting companies will claim they have 99.8% uptime, yet do not provide statistics. Ever ask them why? Do they even keep uptime statistics? Who knows!

Take a look at our Server Uptime Reports to see real information, provided by Alerta. Now visit the host you are trying to compare us to, and see what their uptime stats are. Most likely they will not disclose those, but if you are lucky they will.
